Welcome to Ards Friary
Ards Friary aims to welcome everyone and is available throughout the year for Retreats (preached, directed, private etc) Conferences, Seminars, periods of rest and relaxation, reflection, prayer and holidays.
We all need to take time out from the hectic life cycle of work to refocus on what is really important to us. Why not let Ards Friary become a part of your life.
You can find out more about each retreat by clicking the appropriate link. Opposite is a list of the retreats that will be happening this year.
The daily rate for staying at Ards on a private retreat on a full board basis is €55 per day off peak and €60 per day in June, July and August.
If you wish to make a private retreat at a time that a group event is advertised, you are more than welcome, as we generally would have rooms available.

WISDOM OF THE SAINTS
"In all the events of life, you must recognise the Divine Will. Adore and bless it, especially in the things which are the hardest for you"
"Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart."
"Oh, how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner!"
"The Devil is like a mad dog tied by a chain. Beyond the length of the chain he cannot catch hold of anyone. And you, therefore, keep your distance. If you get too close you will be caught. Remember, the Devil has only one door with which to enter into our soul: our will. There are no secret or hidden doors. No sin is a true sin if we have not willfully consented."
"If you have the courage to imitate Mary Magdalene in her sins, have the courage to imitate her penance!"
“At Jesus’ school I have learned that silence and hope are the fortress of the soul.”
"The most beautiful act of faith is the one made in darkness, in sacrifice, and with extreme effort.”
"He who never meditates is like a person who never looks in the mirror; therefore, not knowing that he is untidy, he goes out looking disorderly."
"Take God to the sick; it will be worth more than any other cure!"
