Welcome to Ards Friary
Ards Friary aims to welcome everyone and is available throughout the year for Retreats (preached, directed, private etc) Conferences, Seminars, periods of rest and relaxation, reflection, prayer and holidays.
We all need to take time out from the hectic life cycle of work to refocus on what is really important to us. Why not let Ards Friary become a part of your life.
You can find out more about each retreat by clicking the appropriate link. Opposite is a list of the retreats that will be happening this year.
The daily rate for staying at Ards on a private retreat on a full board basis is €55 per day.
If you wish to make a private retreat at a time that a group event is advertised, you are more than welcome, as we generally would have rooms available.

SAINT OF THE WEEK
"If we look forward to receiving God's mercy, we can never fail to do good so long as we have the strength. For if we share with the poor, out of love for God, whatever he has given to us, we shall receive according to his promise a hundredfold in eternal happiness. What a fine profit, what a blessed reward! With outstretched arms he begs us to turn toward him, to weep for our sins, and to become the servants of love, first for ourselves, then for our neighbors. Just as water extinguishes a fire, so love wipes away sin".
"Labor without stopping; do all the good works you can while you still have the time".
"Love the poor tenderly, regarding them as your masters and yourselves as their servants".
Prayer to St John of God
Saint John of God, help us to act out of love as soon as we feel the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Help us learn to fight the little voices in our heads and hearts that give us all sorts of practical reasons to wait or delay in our service of God.
