Welcome to the
Website for Ards Retreat & Conference Centre

Ards offers a full range of Retreats throughout the year both private and directed. We also facilitate many day retreats for individuals or groups who simply want to refocus their lives. A special welcome is extended to parishes and schools as well as individuals who wish to spend a few days in quiet reflection or just connecting with the beauty of nature. All are most welcome.

The Retreat Centre lies on the Wild Atlantic Way and is nestled in 200km of woodland on the shores of Sheephaven Bay. The extensive grounds offer a range of woodland walks and scenic views of the shore with the hills of Donegal as a backdrop.

Accommodation is available for those who wish to prolong their retreat or for anyone who simply wants a few days rest and relaxation in peace and quiet where they can unwind amidst the natural beauty of the Donegal countryside.

As from 1st January 2017 Ards Friary Retreat Centre is under new management comprising a cooperative ministry between the Diocese of Raphoe and the Capuchin Friars

St Clare of Assisi - Fransciscan Saint

Franciscan Saints

St Clare of Assisi

What you hold may you always hold.
What you do, may you always do and never abandon.
But with swift pace, light step and unswerving feet,
so that even your steps stir up no dust,
Go forward, the spirit of our God has called you.

A blessing from St. Clare's second letter to Blessed Agnes of Prague
